Welcome to my first attempt at a website, I hope you find it interesting. Please let me know what you think.
I have had a workshop on and off for the last 25 years.
During that time I have built and renovated houses changed jobs four times and occasionally 'fiddled about' with various projects in various temporary workshops. My wife and I took a slightly early retirement a few years back and we have finally settled down in Devon after spending a couple of years travelling Europe in a campervan. The first thing to do after 'settling down' and getting our new house just how we like it was to build my workshop and uncrate my Myford Speed 10 and find a home for all the paraphenalia that goes with a workshop.
I had always wanted a slightly bigger machine than my Speed 10 and wanted a mill. So I decided to pay Warco a visit and came away with the machines you see here.
My workshop is not large - it's half of the integral garage under our house (our car won't fit into a 1960's size garage!) I will soon be negotiating with my wife to expand the workshop into part of the junk storage half of the garage and throw out some of the junk!
After that it was time to unpack Simplex and have another go after something like 8 years.
Well, that was 20 months ago and we have moved house, again!
My workshop had to be moved and setup yet again the move was relatively painless for the first time we used a proper removals company to do it for us and it was just heaven. Especially moving the machines and the boxes of materials and books.
I have really got stuck in over the last year and have completed the tender and hornplates for a 3" Burrell that my Brother and I are making between us.
He is doing the front end and boiler whilst I am doing the Mainwheels, tender, and hornplates with crankshaft bearings.
I have also finished the Worden cutter grinder which I have built from stock materials I had in the workshop (see my tools and machine sections). The fixings from EKP Supplies and the motor was sourced from Stone power transmission via Ebay.
